“Cardrona ski resort in New Zealand received 15-20cm overnight and the super cold weather sucked the moisture right out of the ground, leaving us with some cold, wintery snow to ski on. The off piste on Captains was the best and you can see people starting to get hucktastic again. Winter is back!” – Guy LaDouche, July 14th, 2016
***Update July 15th:
Cardrona got another 15cms overnight bringing their 48 hour total to 35cms (14″) as of 6am on July 15th (yes, it’s tomorrow there).
“It’s a POWWWWDER DAY! Another 15cm overnight! At total of 35cm in 48hrs. Mod winds easing. 2wd fit chains or catch the shuttle ๐ Rise & shine – today is going to be MINT โ๏ธ👍โ๏ธ👍โ๏ธ” – Cardrona, today
It’s real windy up there today:
“Conditions are changing incredibly rapidly today. We are doing our absolute best to get everyone out to enjoy the powder whilst being safe. The team is all on mountain now & will be updating regularly. Lifts are subject to wind hold but the forecast is for it to ease mid-morning.” – Cardrona, today
