Retired U.S. ski racer Ted Ligety announced the end of his long-standing sponsorship by Headย on social media on Monday, October 7. Ligety wrote on his Instagram account, โ€œAfter 14 incredible years with @head_ski , itโ€™s time for the new chapter. Together, weโ€™ve achieved unforgettable victories, shaped skiing history, and pushed the boundaries of whatโ€™s possible on the slopes. The team at Head felt like a family. Thank you for being such an integral part of my journey. Itโ€™s time for the next adventure.โ€

Those who wondered about the 40-year-old athlete’s new path did not have to wait for an answer for too long. Today, October 8, the two-time Olympic Champion announced that he will be joining DPS Skis. DPS was founded by Stephan Drake and Peter Turner in 2005. DPSโ€™ global headquarters is located at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Within its adjoining state-of-the-art ski factory, space-age carbon technology is fused with groundbreaking shapes to create the worldโ€™s most advanced skis. Its products are sold on five continents, and it is the trusted brand of choice for serious skiers worldwide.

โ€œSince I was a kid, I dreamed of making skis. Joining DPS Skis as the Head of Product Performance is fulfilling that dream. Iโ€™m excited to help DPS build on its innovative approach to making carbon fiber skis right here in Salt Lake City, Utah, and help develop current and future skis. The ability to get in the nitty-gritty of ski building, make a prototype in the morning, and ski on it by the afternoon is unheard of and exhilarating, making the opportunities for ski development endless. Stay tuned for more updates on whatโ€™s to come.โ€
