The alarm was raised late Sunday night when the hiker did not return from his Rocky Mountain National Park trip. Officials found his car on the road near the Corral Creek Trailhead in the northwest portion of the park Monday morning.
Park officials say the body was found Tuesday below a large cliff band in a steep, rocky area above Mirror Lake, at about 11,000 feet.ย Ground crews, dog teams, and helicopters assisted in the search.
The cause of death is under investigation.
