In time with her real action movie premier, Barbie, everyone’s beloved doll, visited Perisher Ski Resort, Australia. Someone at Perisher’s PR department clearly had a lot of fun with this and we thought we’d share some screenshots with our readers.
Perisher resort posted on their Instagram story a series of six photos and videos of a Barbie doll snowboarding around the resort.
The Barbie doll was dressed up for a day of snowboarding, with a white helmet with the iconic barbie logo, a colourful pink and blue patterned ski jacket and aqua-blue pants. With her pink snowboard, white boots, pink gloves and a pink scarf the iconic doll was ready to hit the slopes.
“She’s here 💅” reads Perisher’s first picture of the Barbie doll in the snow up to her knees and waving, ready to hit the Australian snow.
After her warm-up runs Barbie is ready to hit the jumps, Barbie send it and goes for a cork-7, getting massive air from her launch but unfortunately losing her snowboard mid flight. Luckily, Barbie performs the trick seamlessly a second time with her Snowboard attached and lands perfectly.
After a long day of snowboarding Barbie is ready to go home, the last video shows Barbie riding the Skitube back.
Greta Gerwig’s block buster movie Barbie was released on July 21, 2023 and has thus far grossed more than $1 billion. It has seen sold out shows across the globe, even in Australia’s Snowy Mountains. If you are on the snow and have not had a chance to catch the Barbie movie yet, Jindabyne and Cooma’s Twin Cinemas are currently screening Barbie every day, except Monday in Cooma.
