Shreddin’ the Coral @ Kirkwood – still fun to be had!

With 3mm of new snow under bluebird skies, it was one of those days skiers from California could only dream of…

So the MLK weekend monster storm is gone. Now what? Do you go skiing or do you stay home and purchase yet another DLC on Forza?

How are the conditions up in Tahoe? More specifically, what is like at this guy’s usual stomping grounds…Kirkwood? Well, little has changed in the past week and I would bet it will not be much different this upcoming holiday weekend than what you see in this report.

It did manage to snow a few millimeters of snow overnight on Saturday and actually did help out the skiing just a bit. Otherwise, all the usual protected spots were still holding wintery snow.

The groomers are holding up quite nicely and other areas like Chamoix, Oops and Poops, Thunder Saddle, Rabbits Runs, and the fun zone of Olympic all held some decent turns. Add in losing and retrieving an iPhone twice, and you sir, can manage a damn fine day on the mountain. Is skiing in a hoodie in January really that bad?

Pray for snow…in February!
