Snow Trails, OH, Keeps Winter Season Fun Going with Four March Weekend Events for Skiing and Snowboarding

Snow Trails, Ohioโ€™s premier resort for skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing, will keep the winter fun rolling for snow enthusiasts into March, which will include two weekends of ski and snowboard events and festivities. The March line-up includes the Slopestyle, Mini Big Air, Skier/Boarder Cross and Slush Cup competitions. The first March event will take place on Saturday, March 1, with Slopestyle 2025 on the Rustler Jump Line, and the season events wrap with the return of the popular Slush Cup on March 9.

Slopestyle 2025

 

Slopestyle 2024 at Snow Trails

Saturday, March 1, 1:00 p.m.

Skiers and snowboarders will compete on the Rustler Jump Line with a mix of rails and jumps in pro and amateur divisions, with cash prizes and gear awarded. Slopestyle 2025 kicks off with practice from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a mandatory ridersโ€™ meeting at 12:45 p.m. before the 1 p.m. competition. Online registration is required in advance. Competitors must check in at Guest Services, submit a waiver, and have a helmet and valid lift ticket. The course will be open only to registered competitors from practice through the eventโ€™s conclusion.

Mini Big Air

Sunday, March 2, 2:00 p.m.

The Mini Big Air event returns to Snow Trails, offering young skiers and snowboarders a fun introduction to terrain parks and competitions. Held on Possum Slope, the jump area will be fenced off with banners, a DJ, and an MC to create an exciting atmosphere. Open to two age groupsโ€”8 & Under (just for fun) and 9-12 Years Old (competing for prizes like โ€œBest Trickโ€ and โ€œMost Stokedโ€)โ€”the event focuses on fun and friendly competition. Practice runs are noon to 1:45 p.m., with Childrenโ€™s Program Instructors providing guidance. Online registration is required in advance. On event day, participants must check in at Guest Services with a parent/guardian and a signed waiver. Helmets are required.

Skier/Boarder Cross

Saturday, March 8, 1:00 p.m.

The Skier/Boarder Cross Race invites skiers and snowboarders to compete head-to-head on a downhill motocross-style course featuring berms, jumps and rollers on Timberline Trail. The race is open to male and female participants in three age groupsโ€”14 & under, 15-39, and 40 & overโ€”and promises high-speed excitement. Online registration is required in advance. On race day, competitors must check in at Guest Services and submit a waiver to receive a race bib. Medals and prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers, with an awards ceremony at 3:00 p.m. on the Snowflake Loft stage.

Slush Cup

Sunday, March 9, 1:00 p.m.

The Slush Pool Skim event challenges skiers and snowboarders to glide across an icy pool at the base of Competition Trail. With a Luau Beach theme, participants are encouraged to wear their best beach attire and costumes for a fun, late-season celebration. Riders can take on the small lip entry with a pop of air or a smooth skim. Open to male and female competitors in two age divisionsโ€”14 & under and 15 & overโ€”the event is capped at 100 participants. Awards are given for Fastest Time, Best Costume, and Best Wipe-Out at 3:00 p.m. on the Snowflake Loft stage, with Snow Bucks gift cards up for grabs. Online registration is required in advance.

ABOUT SNOW TRAILS

Snow Trails, which was the first commercial ski area in Ohio, is the only privately-owned Ski Resort in Ohio, and has been under the same family management since inception. The resort features six chairlifts, including a slow-moving Beginnerโ€™s Double Chairlift and two ski carpet lifts dedicated to the Beginnerโ€™s Area. A third carpet lift is utilized for the Snow Tubing Park with the โ€œLongest Tubing Lanes in Ohio.โ€ The resort offers 21 trails and is known for the Timberline trail โ€“ โ€œLongest Trail in Ohio.โ€ There are three glade areas, plus five Terrain Parks. A Rope Tow now in The Woods Terrain Park is a new addition this Season. A 9,000 sq. ft. Rental Center houses user-friendly equipment and offers a self-service system. Snow Trails typically opens in mid-December, and the season lasts until March. The resort is located off Interstate 71 south of Mansfield on Possum Run Road.
