What an epic winter so far! Here is a map of snow water content forย yesterday from the NOAA / NWS / National Operation Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center (NOHRSC), along with official statistics from the California Department of Water Resources. 197% of normal for this date!
Northern California is currently 161% of average, Central is currently 195% of average, and Southern is currently 240% of average. It looks like the rest of this week and into next will be relatively calm storm wise, but the storm door opens up once again in the first week of February. It’s looking like the snow water content will continue to rise throughout this record-breaking winter.
