Snowbasin Resort, Utah, has just announced a delay of their opening day, initially set for November 24. The resort anticipates providing more details on the rescheduled opening day within the next week, once it has a clearer understanding of the upcoming weather forecast. As of now, Snowbasin’s “Moose Is Loose” season-kickoff-party will be delayed to a future date.
Snowbasin shared this message through Facebook:
“Our team is standing by, ready for cold enough temperatures to make snow with our advanced system. We expect to have an update available next week as we have more clarity on the upcoming forecast.”
In addition to announcing the delayed opening, Snowbasin also shared some updates on new additions coming to the resort. These include restrooms at Earl’s Plaza, which will be available upon opening, and the debut of the “DeMoisy Express” chairlift scheduled for mid-December. Although the delayed opening is a bummer, the lack of snow and moderate weather conditions should help crews expedite work on the new chairlift.
