No, this is not April Fools.

If you want front-row parking at Snowbird next winter it’s going to cost you. The Utah resort near Salt Lake City has officially announced its 2025–26 Preferred Parking Pass, priced at $1,300 for the season, granting access to premium lots without requiring daily reservations.

The pass offers guaranteed access to three of Snowbird’s most convenient parking areas—Lower Gad Valley, Pond, and Bypass Road—every day from December 1, 2025, through April 30, 2026, until 1 p.m. After that time, any unfilled spaces are opened to the public.

Current Preferred Parking passholders can renew their passes starting March 26, with public sales opening April 15 at 10 a.m. The number of passes will be limited and sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Snowbird cites the resort’s geography and heavy snowfall in Little Cottonwood Canyon as key reasons for the parking limitations. According to the resort, proceeds from the Preferred Parking Pass go toward expanding carpool-specific parking, enhancing rewards for carpoolers, and supporting UTA Ski Bus service for season passholders.

While $1,300 is steep, the pass guarantees a spot close to the lifts without needing a daily reservation—something regular skiers in the canyon may find very much worth the price due to the canyon’s frequent congestion issues. More information and purchasing details are available on Snowbird’s official site.
