Snowmobiler Killed in Avalanache in Cooke City, MT Today:

A snowmobiler died in an avalanache near Cooke City, MT today.  We will provide more information on this accident when the details become available.

“The Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center (GNFAC) is sad to report that a snowmobiler was killed in an avalanche outside of Cooke City today. Three snowmobilers were caught in the slide and one was fully buried and killed. The avalanche occurred on the SE face of Sheep Mountain. Our condolences go out to the victims family and friends.” – GNFAC

This was the 3rd Avalanche fatality of 2015/16 in North America.  A missing skier is presumed dead in an avalanche in Alaska in November and a hiker was killed in an avalanche near Mt. Whitney, CA in November.
