South American Ski Resorts Announce Opening Days

The 2024 ski and snowboard season has officially begun in South America, with the first resort, Corralco, open since Satuday, May 18. Due to unprecedented early snowfall, and a promising snow forecast this upcoming week, several resorts are planning to start the 2024 season early.

The graphic below shows all the expected open dates for South American ski resorts as of May 17, 2024. These dates are subject to change depending on conditions.

The ski season in South America typically starts sometime in June and sometimes as late as July, depending on snowfall. The resorts hope to stay open until late September to mid-October. With that being said, last season was an exception to this, and many resorts were open into November thanks to historic snowfall amounts.
