As the days lengthen and the sun graces the slopes of Mt. Bachelor, outside of Bend, Oregon, the resort transforms for spring festivities. Beyond the allure of soft, sun-kissed snow, Mt. Bachelor curates a series of events that encapsulate the spirited essence of the season. This article offers a glimpse into the festivities awaiting visitors this spring.

Of course, as spring arrives, winter does not just disappear quietly. Last weekend, the Mt. Bachelor team hosted its annual Party in the Peace Parkโ€” ordinarily an event fit for retro costumes and spring vibes. But this year, winter weather was in full effect. Naturally, that didnโ€™t dampen the atmosphere, and smiles were all around.

Subaru is the unofficial vehicle of the Pacific Northwest, and the Mt. Bachelor parking lots make that obvious. A hallmark of Mt. Bachelorโ€™s spring lineup, Subaru WinterFest (April 11-13, 2025) is a three-day extravaganza that blends mountain culture with lively entertainment. Attendees can revel in free concerts, savor local food and drink specials, and participate in engaging activities suitable for all ages. The festivalโ€™s dog-friendly atmosphere ensures that four-legged companions can enjoy the fun.

One of the most iconic Mt. Bachelor spring events is the RendezVan Festival. Celebrating the unique van-life community that converges at Mt. Bachelor each spring, the RendezVan Festival (April 17-20, 2025) offers a fusion of outdoor adventure and communal camaraderie. This free event features live music performances, local food trucks, and various games and competitions. Whether youโ€™re a seasoned van-lifer or simply curious about the lifestyle, RendezVan provides an inviting space to connect and celebrate under the expansive Oregon sky.

An especially unique spring event at Mt. Bachelor is the Big Wave Challenge. At the intersection of snowboarding and surfing, the Big Wave Challenge (April 4-6, 2025) pays homage to legendary surfer Gerry Lopez. Entrants navigate a custom-built course that mimics ocean waves, showcasing their skills in a dynamic and fluid environment. The Big Wave Challenge highlights amazing surfing abilities and an appreciation for the interconnectedness of board sports.

An annual rite of passage for spring skiers and riders, Mt. Bachelorโ€™s Pond Skim does not disappoint. Gliding across a man-made pond always looks easy, but riders canโ€™t let their breath out until they touch land. The Pond Skim epitomizes the playful spirit of spring at Mt. Bachelor, drawing both daring participants and enthusiastic spectators.

Among others, these events contribute to the tapestry of spring at Mt. Bachelor. Whether carving down corn snow in the morning, dancing to live music in the afternoon, or sharing stories with fellow adventurers beside a fire in the evening, Mt. Bachelor offers a multifaceted experience that extends far beyond the slopes.
