Purgatory Resort, Colorado, is excited to launch its new Spring Fling Festival, a month-long celebration of spring skiing, live music, contests, giveaways, food and beverage specials, and exciting activities. The festival will run from March 17 to April 13, 2025, and will culminate with the resort’s annual Pond Skim and Beach Party.
Spring Fling promises something for everyone, from families and beginner skiers to seasoned riders looking to enjoy the final weeks of winter. March and April are renowned for deep snow, mild temperatures and vibrant events at Purgatory Resort.
Event highlights include:
- St. Patrick’s Day & Ska Brewing Party (March 17): Celebrate the luck of the Irish with live music, green-themed festivities, and local beer from Ska Brewing.
- Hollywood Huckfest Slopestyle Freeride (March 22): Witness gravity-defying stunts during this exhilarating freeride competition.
- Snowcat Dining Excursion (March 22): A unique dining experience in the heart of the San Juan Mountains.
- Annual Pond Skimming Contest (April 13): The grand finale of the Spring Fling Festival and ski season.
Since 2001, the Pond Skim has been a beloved tradition at Purgatory Resort. Skiers and snowboarders don their most creative costumes and test their skills (and luck) as they attempt to skim across a chilly pool of water. Spectators can enjoy live music, food, and Ska Brewing beer as they cheer on the contestants. Prizes will be awarded for Best Skim, Best Wipeout, and Best Costume, making this event a must-see and the perfect way to say goodbye to winter.
Guests purchasing lift tickets online in advance during Spring Fling will receive a $10 daily resort credit. Lift tickets for these dates are highlighted in orange on the resort’s online ticket calendar. Visitors can also take advantage of 50% off multi-day basic rentals or full-day group lessons for skiers and snowboarders ages 13 and older.
