Today was simply spectacular at Squaw Valley, CA.
A good friend who’s been skiing Squaw for 17 years told me this today:
“One of the best Squaw days I’ve ever had. ย Period.”
This morning, Squaw was reporting 10″ of snow overnight and 15″ of snow in 24 hours.
It skied deeper than that, I thought.
The snow was good, responsive, fast, and crazy fun.
Squaw is so incredibly filled in right now it’s hard to understand. ย Current snow levels look very much like the deepest snow levels we had in the record 811″ season of 2010/11.
I had an absolute ball today. ย I’ve been battling a knee injury for the past 2 years and today was the first day I’ve been able to let loose since that initial injury two Januarys ago. ย I screamed a lot today. ย My knee felt good today. ย I felt very mindful and thankful today.
People often ask me: ย “where is your favorite place to ski?” ย
I invariably tell them: ย “Squaw Valley, USA.”
Today exemplified just how absolutely sick Squaw can be and I loved every second of it.
Chairs open today: ย KT-22 (10am), Red Dog, Far East, Squaw Creek, Funitel, Gold Coast.
We skied KT all morning, then did two great, super fresh laps on Broken Arrow (hiked up from Funi) before finishing the afternoon on KT.
KT-22 opened at 10am today.

Seems that the Snowbrains creator can’t handle criticism? You write a article like that, you’d better be able to back it up. Come on Miles, what’s the deal?
Miles, thank you for removing the “fake news” article on Squaw lift openings. Can you provide an explanation why that horrific article was posted in the first place?
