Despite a lackluster winter in Tahoe, the skiing is still pretty darn good. The 2 foot storm that hit the area last weekend left some good snow up high, unfortunately after a week of sun, and warm temperatures, a good portion of that has disappeared. None the less, the skiing is still ripping at Sugar Bowl, with firm rip-able groomers in the morning, and afternoon corn abound.
Sugar Bowl is skiing great right now, with cool temperatures in the morning the groomers are the call, while off-piste is a bit crunchy. By mid-afternoon the snow began to soften up making off trail an option, and corn filled groomersย aren’t half bad either.ย While Judah is still closed, Lincoln and Disney are holding good snow and fun turns. Crows Nest is holding on by a thread, debatable how long it will stay open with large dirt patches and variable snow. There’s a chance of rain and snow on Wednesday, depending on which way it goes could spell the end for Crows Nest. Either way the skiing is still good, the warm temperatures and fun skiing even brought out the costumes and snowblades today as everyone trying to make the best of the less than desirable season in Tahoe.
