Sugar Bowl ski resort in Lake Tahoe, CA had its final day of operations this winter today and it was a good one. ย Party cloudy skies kept the sun off the snow and kept things fast and fun. ย There was enough sun to slush the mountain up but not make it sticky. ย The wind was blowing a bit as well keeping the snow and riders cool.
I’m no bump skier but the bumps were great today. ย Fall line bump skiing laps off the Lincoln chair all day had us spent by 2pm.
There was a great musician playing on the deck with a BBQ and good beers for solid apres.
The vibe at Sugar Bowl is simply too cool. ย There were never any crowds, everyone knows each other, everyone is respectful, kids are having a blast. ย This place feels like family.
Sad to see Sugar Bowl close, but excited for what’s to come next year. ย Thanks Sugar Bowl.
That was such a fun day! So bummed Sugar Bowl is closed, but that was a fun way to send it off for the season! Can’t wait until next year! PS: That was ME performing out on the deck. Any chance you can add my name (Chi McClean and or website http://www.chimcclean.com) to the photo credit? Thanks and ski ya later!
Chi McClean is the musician he’s a ripping skier as well. The Bowl was skiing great on Sunday
I concur !! It was a great day !! Silver Belt, the 58, Fullers, all the groomers up high skied great. Corn harvesting was in serious overdrive e !! The run outs, although a tad slow ( well really slow) they never got grabby on the way to Lincoln. The place sure looked sad though with no snow at all on Judah and very little on Disney. In spite of the lack of terrain I still had plenty of fun and left at 3:30 absolutely spent. Good Times.
