The elements can be strong in the mountains, from sun, wind, and snow. Proper eye protection is crucial, whether you are a multi-day ski tourer or a margarita in the sun kinda mountain person. No one wants to squint to see the stunning views; good sunglasses are essential for enjoying your surroundings.

Sunski has just released its new Apex Series sunglasses, which are fit for all alpine adventures. They combine premium style and performance to allow you to push the limits of outdoor adventure.

The Apex Series features Sunskisโ€™ award-winning sun shield system, with magnetic and removable sun shields that provide extra protection from bright reflective glare. There are also removable centerpieces above the nosepiece that shield the sun for even more protection.

The all-new Sunski Apex Series comprises two styles, and both come in color combos that will suit most peopleโ€™s style on the mountain. The Ferrata has a larger square aviator-style frame, and the Strada has a smaller rounder frame.

โ€œWe wanted to make the best Alpine sunglasses for ourselves and didnโ€™t compromise on anything. We wanted the perfect balance of style, function, and comfort. With Apex, weโ€™ve created just that,โ€ Sindre Klepp, Sunski Head of Design, said.

The glasses are polarized and 100% UV resistant. They feature Sunskiโ€™s Helio Lens, which are ultra dark and have incredibly durable polycarbonate lenses.

โ€œThe journey of creating the Apex series began over three years ago as I envisioned fusing our two most advanced architectures: our premium and alpine collection. As a fellow backcountry enthusiast, I always strive to create the best products possible for outdoor adventure,โ€ Klepp said.

Sunskiโ€™s Backstory: A Brand That Takes Sustainability Seriously

Sunski was founded by two passionate Californian skiers who are best friends. The companyโ€™s mission is to make the best sunglasses for outdoor adventure and inspire its community to live in balance with nature.

Sunski is a grassroots brand that strives to raise the bar as a sustainable sunglasses business. Sunski is a certified climate-neutral company and has been a member of the 1% for the Planet for over 10 years. They also donate one percent of their revenue to environmental charities each year.

Sunski also invented SuperLight, a revolutionary recycled polymer that transforms post-industrial scrap plastic into a material they use for all their sunglasses frames.

In 2018, Sunski first entered the winter eyewear scene when it launched an aviator-esque glacier sunglasses called the Treeline. The Treeline is loaded with modern sun-protective features while paying homage to the iconic mountaineering style. This design won a Red Dot Design Award for its versatile, removable magnetic sun shield system.

Sunski believes sustainability is more than a single initiative or material choice. It influences every facet of the business, and the companyโ€™s choices stem from a profound love of nature.

โ€œThe Apex series is the pinnacle of design at Sunski. With innovative functionality and timeless style, weโ€™ve created shades we desperately wanted for ourselves. Itโ€™s amazing to see how many customers who agreed with us on that. We canโ€™t keep these in stock,โ€ Klepp said.
