Swell Saturdays: Barreled on the Zambezi | River Surfing in Zambia, Africa

This video of surfing the Zambezi River in Zambia is an interesting reminder of some of the other possibilities out there.  River surfing certainly relates mountain culture and some of the eclectic surfing options mountain folk can come up with.

We know of great river surfing in Zurich, Munich, Jackson Hole, Indonesia, and the Amazon.  There’s definitely more out there and even more left to be discovered.

This is a great way to get a good feel of your board.  Instead of a 10 second ride be stellar, you can surf for hours without stopping.

Have any of you tried surfing behind a wakeboard boat?  It’s mellow, but again, you can surf for miles.
