Conditions Report – Slow Start to Ontario Ski Season After Warm Temperatures and Plenty of Rain As one of the busiest times of the ski season is underway, Ontario ski resorts, like many other places right now on the East Coast, are seeing above-average temperatures that have left the region feeling more like spring, with winter yet to make a full appearance. Yet, despite the lack of a winter-filled Christmas time, there are still plenty of […] Conditions Report Liam Abbott | December 27, 2023 4 Comments
Dachstein, Austria: Late May Glacier Skiing For most people in Europe, the ski season is over. Pretty much all of the resorts have closed their slopes and lifts. But if you really miss skiing, there are still some glaciers up there, where you can do few more turns, or hit some jumps before you definitely put your skis to summer rest. One of these places […] Conditions Report OJ | May 24, 2017 3 Comments
Velka Raca, Slovakia: Opening powder! Velka Raca is a small resort on border between Slovakia and Poland. With only little bit over 14km of slopes and 3 chairlifts that connect 3 valleys, you will not find here big vertical drops or chutes, but instead a friendly and familiar atmosphere with beautiful landscapes. Last weekend (3-4/Dec) was the opening weekend and boy it was the most snow […] Conditions Report OJ | December 6, 2016 0 Comments
Crystal Mountain Conditions Report | Corn, Chalk and Chowda Though the northwest is still hungry for more snow, the spring-like conditions at Crystal are surprisingly rad! Near the top of the resort, north-facing slopes still have some protected, chalky snow, allowing for smeary, fast turns. Once the sun heats up the steeper south-facing runs, the slush is easy to mash through and there are plenty of shrubs and rocks to jump over if that’s your thing. As always, the groomers are speedy and consistent with plenty of small rollers to pop off. Rachel Delacour | March 8, 2015 0 Comments

Not a lot over four days (for Washington), but this year that makes up nearly 7% of the total snowfall. Conditions and coverage up high have remained fairly good for the past few weeks, surviving the June-uary warmup that baked the snowpack. The new snow was all […] Conditions Report Chaz Diamond | February 28, 2015 0 Comments
Crystal Mountain Conditions Report | Return of Winter? Something strange happened this past week in Washington. It snowed. Sure, the accumulation only stacked up to 6 inches, but after weeks of high pressure any snow is welcome. Snow is snow, you can tell because of the way it is (and sticks in the trees). It didn’t rain, it snowed, and that’s all that matters. Luckily stayed low through the end of the week, so the new snow didn’t immediately […] Conditions Report Chaz Diamond | February 22, 2015 0 Comments
Crystal Mountain Conditions Report | Slush Crushing The string of unseasonably warm weather continues in the Pacific North West.
