“American Dave” Rosenbarger Dies in Avalanche in Chamonix This sucks. Dave was a great guy and fantastic skier that skied for himself, not for the limelight. He’d spent the past 12 winters in Chamonix and the past 12 summers in Lake Tahoe, CA. Dave had skied nearly all the gnarliest lines in Chamonix and many more around the world. He’d recently told me that he’d skied the North Face of the Aiguille du Midi around 70 times. Most wouldn’t have the guts to ski it once.
