NOAA: Snow for High Sierra in California This Weekend

NOAA is Reno, NV is calling for snow above 10,000-feet in Tahoe on Saturday and snow down to 9,500-feet on Sunday.  Snow is also forecast for the highest peaks of the southern Sierra as well as Tioga and Sonora Passes. Lake Tahoe Ski Resort Snow Totals This Morning: Up to 8″ of Snow

Tahoe got a late season storm that is a bit late as at this point, most of the ski resorts in Lake Tahoe are closed. But the five of the big ski resorts are still open and they got decent amounts of snow. Another 6-24″ inches of snow if forecast for Tahoe Tuesday – Wednesday. Too little too late? Squaw Valley Powder Day Report:

Squaw Valley reported that they received 7″ of snow on Sunday night and Monday. The entire mountain was closed, more or less, yesterday leaving us all of Siberia, Headwall, Solitude, Shirley Lake, and Granite Chief fresh for the taking. We showed up at 8:30am, it was mostly sunny, and there were very few people in line for the Funitel. At the top of the Funi, people seemed to chose between going straight to Sibo-Reverse Traverse-Headwall or Granite Chief. We chose Emigrant to Granite and it was pretty great in spots. Icy […]
