Telluride Ski Resort, Colorado, just announced their opening day for the 2023/2024 season through an announcement on their Facebook page:
โWith Mother Nature providing cold temps, some natural snowfall, and our snowmaking team taking advantage of every opportunity to make snowโฆ. we will be opening this Saturday, December 2nd!
Lift 4 and the Chondola will be spinning on opening day, and the resort expects to have the following runs fully open: Village Bypass to Lower Boomerang, Gorrono, Upper Misty Maiden, The Meadows, both Magic Carpets, and ski-out access from the Village Parking Garage from Double Cabins. Gorrono Ranch, one of the resort’s on-mountain restaurants, will also be opening up on December 2, along with the Ski School and Cubs Camp for those looking for lessons.
So far this season the resort has received 18 inches of snow, and it currently has a base depth of 13 inches. The resort is expecting around a foot and a half of new snowfall in the next five days, which will help build up the base for opening day. Telluride Resort will remain completely closed until opening day for safety purposes. This includes hiking, sledding, downhill skiing, and uphill skinning.ย
