This latest documentary-style movie won’t disappoint.
Check out the trailer, but first an intro from TGR themselves…
After almost four years of hard work, Teton Gravity Research is excited to release a new trailer for our documentary, Andy Irons: Kissed by God. The film is an intimate, in-depth look at bipolar disorder and opioid addiction as seen through the life of three-time world champion surfer Andy Irons.
On May 31st, we will be teaming up withย Fathom Eventsย to bring Andyโs story to more than 500 screens across the nation for a special one-night event. Pre-sale tickets are available now to the TGR community exclusively onย tetongravity.com for a limited time. Public tickets will go on sale Friday, April 27th. Andy was an incredible presence on the world stage known popularly as the โPeopleโs Champion,โ whose blue collar rise to fame and massive surfing success was a huge point of pride for his home of Hawaii. By profiling Andyโs rise and fall, we want to humanize the man behind the legend and show how Andy struggled with the same demons that millions of people worldwide battle with daily.
โThe time to tell Andyโs story is now, not because we want to glorify his life or accomplishments but because Andy wanted to share the truth of his struggles to educate future generations,โ said his brother, Bruce Irons, about the film. โWe wanted to share the whole story โ both the struggles and the triumphs โ and give intimate insight as to who Andy was as a whole.โ
Our special one-night nationwide events will conclude with a Q+A with directors, Andy’s friends and family and a mental health specialist. Weโre excited to finally bring this story to life,ย and we hope youโll join us on May 31st.
