A snowstorm has delivered 48cm (19 inches) of fresh snow to Thredbo Resort, Australia, this weekend. The best part? Mother Nature isn’t finished yet.
Thredbo Resort has been transformed into a picture-perfect snow globe after a snowstorm rolled through this weekend, bringing a total of 48cm (19 inches) of fresh snow to the mountain and 15cm (6 inches) throughout the village. Thredbo Brand and Marketing Director Richie Carroll said the snowfall created an absolutely magical atmosphere this weekend.
“It’s awesome to see our guests experiencing the resort at its absolute best. It truly is a white winter wonderland in Thredbo right now,”

The fresh snow has provided exciting conditions for skiers and snowboarders, with a significant amount of guests deciding to jump in the car for a last-minute trip after seeing the forecast last week.ย
It’s shaping up to be another strong season of skiing and snowboarding at Thredbo Resort. So far this winter, Thredbo has received 174cm (69 inches) of snow, a 14cm (6 inches) increase YoY. On this day last year (July 9, 2022), our total season snowfall was sitting at 160cm (63 inches). The fresh snow has created a strong base for this season’s snowpack, helping to ensure Thredbo will have a long and successful winter ahead.
Experts forecast that another 10cm of fresh snow will fall over the next 24 hours before sunny skies return throughout the week. Looking ahead, there is more snow forecast for the coming weeks, with experts saying another storm will be coming through in around ten days.
This weekend’s snow came just in time for the final week of the NSW school holidays this week, providing families with great skiing and snowboarding conditions in addition to Thredbo’s massive line-up of free family-friendly events, entertainment, and activities on offer as part of the July Kids Snow Festival.
