Equal #6 Lauchernalp/Lötschental, Switzerland
Lauchernalp/Lötschental in the Swiss canton Valais is back in our top 7, tying with Chamonix which also has 4.4m (14 feet) of snow. Lauchneralp is a medium-sized resort near the Aletsch Glacier with 41 km (26 miles) of groomed runs. There is no road access to the village in winter, it is only reachable by tram way.

Equal #6 Chamonix Mont-Blanc, France
Chamonix Mont-Blanc is at 4.4 meters (14 feet) of snowdepth at peak. Chamonix saw 4 inches of snow on Sunday and Monday and conditions are looking great. Please note avalanche risk is elevated and slide avalanches can occur above 2,5000 meters (8,200 feet).

Equal #4 Saas-Fee, Switzerland
Moving into equal #4 this week is Saas-Fee in Switzerland with 4.5 meters (15 feet), up 30cm (12 inches) from last week. Saas-Fee is Zermatt’s little sister, just one valley up from Zermatt. Like its big sister, it offers fantastic snow conditions and also has a car-free village.

Equal #4 Alpe d’Huez, France
Dropping to #4 is Alpe d’Huez this week with 4.5 meters (15 feet), down 20 cm (8 inches) from last week. The highest peak in the Alpe d’Huez ski area in France is the Pic Blanc, reaching an altitude of 3,330 meters (10,925 feet). The ski run from Pic Blanc is the longest black run in Europe, called Sarenne, which is 16 kilometers (10 miles) long. Ski lifts at Alpe d’Huez will stay open until April 21, 2024.

#3 Stubaier Glacier, Austria
Unchanged from last week in third place is Stubai Glacier, the largest glacier ski area in Austria. Stubaier Glacier is known for its excellent freeride terrain, with 14 dedicated freeride runs and an off-piste map. The resort has had a top up of 5cm (2 inches) from last week and conditions are looking great still!

#2 Avoriaz/Portes du Soleil, France
Unchanged in second place is Avoriaz in France with 4.67 meters (15 feet), 1 cm (1/2 inch) more than last week. Avoriaz is together with Morzine and Montriond part of the world-famous Portes du Soleil ski area.

#1 Flims Laax Falera, Switzerland
Flims Laax Falera received a nice top up of 5 cm (2 inches) in the last 24 hours and has seen steady snowfalls in the last few days, taking snowdepth at Laax to 4.68 meters (15 feet). Flims Laax is typicaly open until mid-April, so it’s not too late to plan a ski trip to make the most of the great spring skiing. The resort has another 9 inches in the forecast for the next five days, so what are you waiting for?
