Report from Josh Anderson and Ben Paciotti on July 25, 2016
Today was full-send at Treble Cone. After an hour or two of patrol bombing, Saddle Basin opened with 30 cm of wind buffed pow and a full on Chinese Downhill from the saddle to the chair.
Once things were rolling, it was game on, with bomb holes appearing below anything with a take-off. Treble Cone is home to a posse of Kiwi shredders who rallied from open to close. Ben and I did our best to keep up with the young guns, and found some sweet turns and airs along the way.
The snow was wind effected on piste, but the summit hike was knee deep, blower pow. It was again, the best day of New Zealandโs season. With more snow lined up Wednesday through the weekend, things should keep looking good around Wanaka so stay tuned or just come join us.
