In what can only be described as a wild day of dual mogul competitions, USA’s Jaelin Kauf and Canada’s Mikaël Kingsbury emerged victorious, crowning themselves the 2025 Dual Mogul World Champions. Second place on the women’s side went to Kauf’s teammate Tess Johnson, while third place went to Anastassiya Gorodko from Kazakstan, who defeated USA’s Kylie Kariotis in the Small Final. On the men’s side, Kingsbury shared the podium with fellow dads Ikuma Horishima from Japan and Matt Graham from Australia.

After several days of sunshine, the course in Corviglia was hard and icy on this overcast day on Friday, March 21. During warm-up, several skiers crashed in the early morning on the hard-packed course, whittling down the number of competitors. Team USA moved into the Round of 16 with four skiers in the women’s team and three skiers in the men’s team. Dylan Walczyk and Nick Page did not manage to advance to the quarter-finals, while Charlie Mickel, as well as Kauf, Johnson, Kariotis, and Kasey Hogg, advanced to the next round, where Hogg bowed out to Gorodko. Johnson meanwhile defeated Wednesday’s winner Perrine Laffont and advanced together with Kauf and Johnson into the semi-finals, where Johnson defeated Gorodko and Kauf defeated her teammate Kariotis. Gorodko took the victory in the Small Final, claiming Bronze, while Kauf demoted Johnson in a nail-biting finish to Silver.
During the men’s semi-final, three of the top four skiers crashed, leaving two with such bad injuries that they were unable to compete in the Small and Big Final. With Sweden’s Filip Gravenfors sustaining a broken tibia and unable to compete, Matt Graham was crowned Bronze medallist in the men’s Small Final, while Horshima announced from the top of the course he would not be able to compete in the Big Final, crownings Kingsbury the Dual Moguls Champion. It marks Kingsbury’s fourth consecutive World Championship title in Dual Moguls and ninth World Championship title overall. Horishima, who had won the Mogul World Championship on Wednesday, March 19, overshot the bottom landing of the moguls run during the semi-finals, sending him lurching forward and tumbling like a ragdoll across the finish line. The extent of his injuries is currently unclear.
This wraps up the moguls events at the 2025 Freestyle World Championships in Engadin St. Moritz, Switzerland. The competitions in the Corviglia and Corvatsch ski area continue until Sunday, March 30.
