Valle Nevado, South Americaโ€™s premier ski resort, is excited to announce the 2024 ski season will be one of the longest and most successful in resort history. Thanks to exceptional snow conditions and strong demand, Valle Nevado, Chile, is extending its season by two weeks and will remain open for skiing until October 20, 2024.

Valle Nevadoโ€™s 2024 season has been a standout in resort history. The resort opened early on May 31, following record-breaking early season snowfall, and began daily operations on June 7, two weeks ahead of the scheduled date of June 21. With its higher elevation and favorable orientation, Valle Nevado is known for having the deepest and most reliable snowpack in the Southern Hemisphere.

“This season’s snowfall has been exceptional, with nearly 22 feet of snow received since May,โ€ said Ricardo Margulis, general manager of Valle Nevado. “We are thrilled to extend our season by two weeks, allowing our guests more time to enjoy the incredible snow weโ€™ve had this year.โ€

This season, the resort has maintained hotel occupancy rates above 90 percent, with international guests comprising over 80% of total visitors. Strong partnerships with Ikon Pass, Power Pass, and Mountain Collective have significantly contributed to an increase in international visitors, particularly from North America.

Hotel Valle Nevado will close on September 22, with Puerta del Sol remaining open until October 13. Tres Puntas Hotel will also close on September 22. “Although some of our hotel services will be winding down, the slopes will remain open for skiing until October 20, providing an extended opportunity for locals and day visitors to enjoy the mountain,” added Margulis.
