With 7500 people in attendance and Willie Nelson’s son playing the national anthem, how could it not be the best pond skim in the USA? Alyeska is known for its legendary annual Slush Cup and the atmosphere is like no other.
“About 50 competitors participated in the Slush Cup at Alyeska Resort on Saturday afternoon, April 8, 2017. Skiers and snowboarders took an alpine run, hit a ramp and tried to skim across a pond at the base of the hill for the chance to win a season pass for 2017-18,” stated Rugile Kaladyte of Alaska Dispatch News.
