Report from December 12, 2023
Now that the vast majority of the powder has been skied up in the Wasatch, we thought we go to Alta, UT, for some High Rustler laps.
High Rustler is one of the best inbounds runs in North America in our view.
High Rustler at Alta, UT
- 45ยบ at steepest
- 1,000-vertical-feet
- “If you can follow in Alfโs ski tracks, drop in for a screaming start of nearly 45 degrees (interspersed with options for glorious air time), and enjoy the ride of more than 1,000 vertical feet down to Wildcat Base and another round on Collins lift.” – Alta Ski Area
The run is currently chalky, bumpy, smooth, and fast.
Top-to-bottom High Rustler laps are a great way to train for the season.
We’re always huffing and puffing at the bottom.
The goal right now is to ski it as fast as possible to the cat track and try to get the best time.
My best time was 1 minute and 13 seconds today and it was damn fun.
We did 3 High Rustler laps today and the 2nd lap was my fastest.
The forecast looks high and dry for the West right now so the best move right now might be High Rustler lap training until we get some new snow.
Thanks, Utah!
