In the video titled “AM Mountain Weather Update 12/6, Meteorologist Chris Tomer,” Meteorologist Tomer provides a mountain weather update for the next seven days.
He discusses two significant weather events, the Pacific Northwest flow and the East Coast storm. The Pacific Northwest flow, happening around December 7 to 8, will cause moderate snow accumulation in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming, while the East Coast storm, starting around December 10, will produce more widespread snow throughout the East Coast.
The Jet pattern plays a significant role in both weather events. The dip in the jet through Wyoming and Colorado supports the heavier accumulation, while the wind and warm air established over the Ohio Valley support the East Coast storm.
Tomer then goes on to discuss the snow conditions in the Northeast due to the cold front and encourages viewers to take care.
“Rich PNW flow breaks loose and hits ID, WY, MT, UT, CO 12/7-12/8. 2nd wave 12/10. First wave is bigger. Large Eastern storm system 12/10-12/11 with rain initially in VT/NH/ME.”
