The 28-year-old American admits that it has been frustrating not being able to compete for such an extended period, but she has found appreciation in watching the other racers competing at the FIS World Cup. Shiffrin has been spotted training at Tolbach/Dobbiaco, Italy, this week.
Meanwhile, the FIS World Cup Super-G race at Val di Fassa, Italy, scheduled for today, February 24, had to be canceled due to heavy snowfalls over the last 24 hours. The southern Alps saw between 20-40 inches of snow on Friday, February 23, rendering the race course unsafe for alpine competitions. The Local Organization Committee (โLOCโ) is hoping to be able to get the course race ready for the Super-G race scheduled for tomorrow.
