“CO 4-8″ accumulation AM 10/21, then pattern shifts north to favor BC/PNW through 10/26, windy Clipper with light/moderate snow accumulation for ID/MT/WY on 10/24, then pattern turns more active after 10/27 with trough of low pressure for UT/WY/MT/CO and moderate to heavy snow accumulation.”

Wolf Creek in Colorado saw almost two feet of fresh snow from the latest storm, allowing them to open tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22.ย Ski areas across Colorado all saw snow, with Loveland and Arapahoe Basin getting 6-10″. The tail end of this storm will see Colorado ski areas get an additional 1-5″.

Upcoming Weather Patterns

– A cutoff low-pressure system will exit Colorado by Monday afternoon.
– The flow will continue to favor the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia.
– A windy Clipper system will move through Idaho, northern Utah, Wyoming, and northern Colorado on Thursday, October 24, bringing a quick shot of snow and strong winds (50-70 mph).
– A significant pattern shift is anticipated after October 27, with increased snowfall probabilities for the Intermountain West.

Snowfall Forecasts (October 23-30)

  • Colorado: 4-8 inches expected in the next 24 hours.
  • Tetons (Wyoming): Over a foot of snow likely.
  • Idaho and Western Montana: 4-8 inches.
  • Pacific Northwest: 1 to 2 feet in some areas.
  • Interior British Columbia: 4-8 inches at higher elevations.

Another storm system is expected to arrive from Halloween and beyond, so these numbers are all expected to increase.
