The winter weather forecast highlights several upcoming storm systems impacting ski and snowboard conditions across the Rockies and Pacific Northwest.

Current Conditions

Colorado is experiencing clear skies with recent natural snowfall of about 10 inches at Loveland Ski Area, preparing to open runs soon. Wolf Creek had a stronger start with double the snow than other areas.

Utah remains clear, with some leftover snow from previous storms.

Upcoming Storms

  • First Storm (Oct 25-26): A windy Clipper system will move through northern Utah and central to northern Colorado, bringing light snow primarily to Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana.
  • Second Storm (Oct 28-30): A more significant storm system is anticipated to bring substantial snow across the Inner Mountain West, including Colorado, Idaho, and Utah.
  • Third Storm (Nov 1): Another system is expected shortly after the second, potentially bringing colder air and more snow accumulation.

Snow Accumulation Forecast

In the short term (next 24 hours), expect up to two inches of snow on the high peaks of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.

If conditions align favorably, the key period (Oct 28 – Nov 1) could see central and northern Colorado receive over a foot of snow. The Tetons and Wind Rivers may also receive significant snowfall during this time.
