Video Summary:

Pacific Northwest and British Columbia

  • The storm track favors British Columbia, with most moisture heading to this area.
  • Significant snowfall is expected in higher elevations of British Columbia, especially later in the forecast period.
  • Mount Baker in Washington may see some light snow accumulation.

Northern Rockies

  • Northern Montana could see some snow very late in the forecast period (around October 14-16).
  • Most of the moisture and snowfall will remain north of the US-Canada border.

Colorado and Central Rockies

  • Mostly warm and dry weather is expected for the next 7-10 days.
  • There’s a slight chance of afternoon rain showers, thunderstorms, or high-elevation snow showers in the Elk Range (around Snowmass) on Wednesday and possibly Thursday.
  • Temperatures will be above average for the next 15 days.

California Sierra Nevada

  • Warm and dry conditions are forecast for the Lake Tahoe area, with high temperatures in the 60s and 70s for the next 15 days.
  • California may experience a small amount of moisture around October 11-12, but it’s expected to dry up quickly.

Other Western US Ski Regions

  • High pressure will dominate the Intermountain West, leading to abnormally warm and dry weather for the next 7-10 days.
  • Some moisture may reach the Northern Tier states (Wyoming, Idaho) very late in the forecast period (around October 14-16).

Overall, the forecast indicates limited snowfall opportunities for most US ski areas in the coming week. The best chances for snow occur in British Columbia and potentially in the Northern Rockies very late in the forecast period.
