Pacific Northwest and British Columbia Favored
- The storm track continues to favor the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia (BC) in Canada.
- Two to three storm systems are expected to roll across BC’s coastal range and interior.
Snow Conditions in BC
- Snow line in interior BC is forecasted to be around 7,000 feet.
- Higher peaks in BC are expected to see significant snow accumulation.
- Mid-mountain areas will likely see lighter accumulations.
Dry Conditions in Lower 48 States
- A large dome of high pressure is bringing abnormally warm and dry air to the Inner Mountain West.
- Areas like Colorado, Utah, and other parts of the lower 48 states are experiencing a long, dry stretch.
- This dry pattern will persist in many areas for the next 5-7 days.
Temperature and Wind
- High temperatures at Alta, Utah, are forecasted to be around 60ยฐF each afternoon.
- Some areas may experience afternoon winds of 15-30 mph gusts.
Jet Stream Pattern
- The jet stream continues to favor British Columbia and Canada.
- Lower 48 states remain on the warmer, drier side of the jet stream.
- This pattern shows little change in the forecast for the coming week.
Outlook
- No significant snowfall is expected in the lower 48 states during this period.
- The dry, stable pattern is typical for September and early October before more active weather patterns begin.
