Skier Recounts Rescuing Snowboarder Buried in Inbounds Avalanche at Squaw Valley, CA on Saturday

On Saturday, March 3rd, 2018, an inbounds avalanche occurred at Squaw Valley ski resort, CA.
One snowboarder was buried in that avalanche.
Bystanders dug that snowboarder out of the snow and saved him.
This is the story of one of those bystanders who helped dig up that buried snowboarder at Squaw.

โFive guests were caught in the avalanche, two females and three males. One guest suffered a serious lower body injury and was transported by North Tahoe Fire Department to Tahoe Forest Hospital.ย Another guest was rescued by Squaw Valley rescue teams, transported to the Tahoe Truckee Medical Group at the base of Squaw Valley, and then was subsequently released. The three other guests who were caught in the avalanche left the scene unharmed.โ

Truckee Sun says the male that was transported Mar 2 To Tahoe Forest Hospital from Oly Lady avalanche with lower body injuries was a Squaw Valley lift maintenance worker who had multiple fractures in his right leg. He spent a week in the hospital. Squaw said he was on duty and now says
his medical bills will be paid.
