Snowboarding the North Couloir on Mt. Mendel looks absolutely nuts. He has a climbing axe in each hand, which could be used to catch him if he were to fall down this crazy steep terrain. Taking it slow is the only way to go, as this couloir is beyond tight. The snow looks great and the backcountry season in California is going to be a long one.
