Crystal Mountain, WA opened yesterday for one day after receiving 22+ inches of snow. They allowed 75 lucky skiers and riders (chosen from facebook) to ride the gondola yesterday from 10am – 1pm.
The gondola was open and nothing else, but hiking was allowed.
This was a very cool move by Crystal Mountain and it was a marketing success story. We’re hoping other ski resorts take note and follow this example.
From the photos, it’s obvious that it was a great day at Crystal. Just image the energy that must have been on the mountain and how much fun these lucky folks had.
There’s also a Facebook video of yesterday at Crystal here: Crystal Oct. 1 FB Video
That does not suck
Strongly jealous.
