The canoe capsized in the northeast corner of Donner Lake. ย That area of the lake is very deep and holds complex underwater terrain. ย The water is also damn cold right now.

Crews searched for the 2 missing men on Friday until dark when the search was suspended until morning due to high winds and large waves. ย The search has resumed this morning.

California Highway Patrol Air Operations, Nevada County Sheriffโ€™s Office Search and Rescue, Placer County Sheriffโ€™s Office Marine Unit and the Truckee Fire Dive Team are all assisting in the search and rescue operation that is now most likely going to be a recovery operation.
