Bariloche, Argentina is one of the 4 big ski zones in South America.
What are the 4 big ski zone of South America? ย Glad you asked. ย We think they are:
Bariloche, Argentina.
Las Lenas, Argentina.
Valle Nevado area, Chile
Termas de Chillan, Chile
Of these 4 zone, Bariloche and Termas de Chillan get the most snow. ย ย
Barioche has already started that trend and it’s very early in the season down there. ย From this photo, it looks like there’s some solid snowpack beginning to form.
The forecast looks good for Bariloche well.
Our editor, Miles Clark, will be living in Bariloche all summer and skiing Catedral ski resort daily. ย He’ll bring you all the latest about everything Bariloche as well as South America in general.
The forecast for Bariloche is looking good as well:
I am thinking of going to Cerro Catedral June 25th to ski for a few days. Do you think the snow is sufficient for good skiing this early? I know it is low season, but I am studying abroad and this is the only weekend that I can go. Thanks in advance!
Trevor
Hey Trevor, we just checked Catedral’s website and they’re saying the mountain is currently closed to skiing…
Looking quite good for opening weekend! If you have not gone down to Argentina or Chile, one simply must! I have been fortunate enough to have experienced the resorts three times. I would be happy to chat with anyone that is thinking of going and be of help to tour ops that send peeps down.
I’ll be there from 5th of july working as a ski instructor. Can always help for nice hefty fee..
