
A mountain climber was killed in an avalanche on Mont Blanc du Tacul in Chamonix, France today at 11:30am. He was from New Zealand.
The avalanche is reported to be 600 meters long. Mountain rescue teams reached him but he was already deceased.

Two other climbers from Chamonix search and rescue team PGhM were injured by the avalanche and hospitalized. Their injuries are reported to be non life-threatening.
An avalanche on this same mountain, Mont Blanc du Tacul, killed 9 people in July 2012.
