Catedral ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina got about 3-4 inches of snow last night. ย It wasn’t quite enough to bury the hard layer underneath, but it did make things fun. ย You could ski the whole mountain again and the chatter underneath quieted down every run as the sun softened things up throughout the day.
The Nubes chair was the call today in the bright sunshine. ย We’ve had about a week of funky weather, so it was great to just have a pure sunny day with no wind at all. ย Temperatures started to warm up today around noon and the sunny sides of the mountain got soft and even slushy in spots.
It was a classic Nubes day where you could ski big mountain lines up high, then glide into the park. ย The park is pretty sweet right now. ย They built it up for a competition on Saturday and thenย kept the jumps as they were for the comp. ย The last jump has big lip on it and is big enough for backflips and 720s.
The views from the ridge lines were spectacular today. ย
The forecast is for great spring skiing all week, then a weekend disturbance that will hopefully bring us some snow.
