Japan is having its best ski season in years right now.  It’s not normal for Japan to have this much snow this early in the season.  The bushes are covered, the big lines are in and it’s game on most everywhere on Honshu & Hokkaido isle.

The most snow at this time in the past 7 years.

Ski resorts in the Hakuba area have already gotten 332 cms (132 inches or 11 Feet) of snow at their bases in the month of December alone.  A few of the resorts have snow depths over 300cms (9.8 feet).  It’s weird out there…

We just arrived here last night.  The boys have been saying it’s been full on neck-deep powder here since Mid-December.  Today was our first day and it was ridiculously deep, as per usual.  It snowed SO HARD today.  We’d forgotten just how hard it can snow here.  It snowed 2 inches per hour all day today and it got wild out there.

The forecast is for nothing but more snow with a big storm rolling in on New Years Eve that’s supposed to last for 3 days.  They are forecasting so much snow that we’re almost a bit scared…  There’s so much snow here already…
