Northern California’s ski resorts got blasted with snow yesterday.ย NOAA forecast 10-18″ of snow and some resorts exceeded that by up to 6″.ย Yesterday got so windy that many Tahoe ski resorts had to completely shut down around noon.
Today is party sunny, windy, and cold.ย The only problem is that the wind is an east wind.ย East winds suck because they blow the snow off the mountain…
Squaw Valley is only 9ยบF, sunny, with an east wind of 31mph at 8:30am.ย We have a full weekend report from Squaw here:ย Squaw Valley, CA Weekend Wrap Up & Video Update: Hot Laps and Hot Pow

We hear ya, Charmane. Wind certainly pressed the snow and blew it off all the trees. Great wind buff powder day today, tho. thanks.
