“The temperatures dropped low enough to make snow last night. Our snowmakers have the lower part of Mambo and the entire section of Homerun remaining. Opening Day is right around the corner.” – Loveland Ski Area, today
Loveland and Arapahoe Basin ski areas in Colorado are generally the first to open in North America each year.
Both are already making snow and both are hoping to get open as soon as possible.
Loveland is claiming that they’re getting there will the upper part of Mambo covered in snow.
Loveland was able to make snow last night.
“The temperatures dropped low enough to make snow last night. Our snowmakers have the lower part of Mambo and the entire section of Homerun remaining. Temps are going to be on the higher side for the weekend and snowmaking does not look promising. Starting Monday we will have cooler temps which will help us knock out the remainder of the snowmaking. No Opening Day this weekend, but we are getting closer. Stay tuned.” – Loveland Ski Area, today
Loveland tied with Arapahoe Basin last year as the first ski resorts open in Colorado on October 29th, 2015.
