We’re sad to report that a 22-year-old man has been killed at the now famous “World’s Largest Rope Swing” in Utah this past Sunday.  The rope swing is set up by climbers on Utah’s Corona Arch and became very popular after a youtube video accrued 17 million views.

The man that passed away is reported to have overestimated how much rope was needed for the 110-foot arch and ended up contacting the ground on his swing attempt.

“People aren’t accepting nature for what it is. They have to put an element of excitement into it,” said Weisheit, a longtime rafting guide. “People see it on YouTube and then say, ‘That looks like fun.’” – washington post

This rope swing has become so popular that officials have recently banned commercial use of the arch for rope swinging.
