Last night, the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California received its first snowfall of the season. ย Squaw Vally got 6-7″ of snow up high.
Up to 5 more inches ofย snow areย on the way today before 11pm. ย NOAA just issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada above 8,000-feet.

“A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for the Sierra above 8000 ft through 11pm this evening. 1 to 4 inches of snow has already been observed overnight, with several more inches possible through this evening. This may cause chain controls or road closures on Highways 4 and 108.
