Snow closed 9,624′ Sonora Pass – Highway 108 – last night (September 22nd, 2016 – the first day of Fall) and it remains closed this morning as of 8am PST.
NOAA forecasted a dusting of snow for California’s Sierra Nevada mountains yesterday, but no one expected there to be enough snow to close any highways.
A storm came through the Sierra Nevada yesterday and dropped snow all over California including at 10 ski resorts in Lake Tahoe, CA/NV.

The storm has now passed and Sonora Pass will most likely open back up again by this afternoon.
