Yep, it’s currently snowing at Mammoth ski resort in California right now!
A storm is currently hitting California that is forecast to have snow levels around 9,000-feet.ย Since Mammoth goes up to 11,000-feet they are getting some solid snow right now.
Tioga and Sonora Passes just north of Mammoth are also above 9,000-feet and should be getting some snowfall today.ย Be careful if you’re headed over those passes today.ย These passes may close today.
Mt. Rose pass in Lake Tahoe is just under 9,000-feet but may also get some snowfall today.
I am planning a trip to see snow in middle October. May I know how can I get up to the resort/mountain safely ? Is there any tour from nearby town or San Francisco ? We just like to experience snow for a day trip
Thank you
Hey Kevin,
Check and see if highwy 120 is open through Yosemite National Park. If the road is open (it closes due to snow and in winter), it is an incredibly beautiful drive from San Francisco to Mammoth. It costs $30 to enter Yosemite National Park, but it’s very much worth it. Enjoy.
Dear Miles
Thank you very much for your suggestion. We will take your advice and experience the snow in California. We are very excited and await the wonderful experience of snowing. Really appreciate it. Thank you once again

Love wind buff !
Mammoth weatherman says Jan. is when the major storms will come from EL. Should be some classic windbuff as locals say… happy, happy, happy
That’s right it starts with a snowflake
It’s the end of the drought, as we know it.
Sure hope this is a good sign
I am a shaman that can affect climates using ancient Atlantean phi crystals with archangel Michael. Battling geoengineering is a piece of cake and I spent 4 days at Mt shasta to conjure super storms sweeping california ๐ i was there from sept 18th – 22nd and can do more climate work with funding.
